Keyboard shortcuts

All Easy Form Studio keys in one place. The same list opens in the program with the Keys button in the EFS tab, Easy Form Studio panel. The chapter Working faster explains how to use the keys on several cabinets at once.

The keys work while the mouse pointer is over the 3D view, in Object Mode. A board of a cabinet counts as the whole cabinet: click any board and the key acts on the cabinet.

The Several cabinets column says whether the key works on all selected cabinets. When it does, all selected cabinets get the next state of the active cabinet (the one you clicked last).

Adding and deleting

Key Action Several cabinets Note
C New cabinet: a new cabinet 600 × 580 × 720 mm, or as set in your My settings no If a cabinet is selected, the new one goes next to it
Shift+C New corner cabinet no Does not use My settings
B New board: a free board no
Shift+H New horizontal shelf no Exactly one object must be selected, and it must not be a shelf. A corner cabinet has at most 3 shelves
Shift+V New vertical shelf (divider) no Exactly one object selected. Does not work on a corner cabinet
Shift+D Duplicate the cabinet no Exactly one object selected
X Delete, without confirmation yes Deletes the whole cabinet and the cabinets related to it. On a shelf it deletes all shelves of the cabinet

Watch out

If several objects are selected when you press Shift+H, Shift+V or Shift+D, Blender takes over the key: Shift+D then duplicates single boards, and Shift+H hides everything that is not selected. Undo with Ctrl+Z, and bring back what was hidden with Alt+H.

Cabinet appearance

Key Action Several cabinets Note
F Next front: None → Left opening → Right opening → Two doors, then the same cycle with Inset yes Does not work on a corner cabinet

O Open / close doors and drawers no The cabinet must have fronts or drawers

Watch out

On a cabinet without fronts and drawers, Blender takes over the O key and switches on proportional editing. The next move then drags the neighbouring objects along too. Switch it off by pressing O again.

1 2 3 Move along X, Y or Z: move with the mouse or type a distance in mm, Enter confirms, Esc cancels yes

Note

On objects that are not EFS cabinets (a lamp, a chair from the library), the R and O keys work as in Blender: rotation and proportional editing.

Keys only with the EFS tool

If the EFS keys get in your way while you do something else in Blender, switch on the EFS keys only with the EFS tool preference. It is in the preferences of the Easy Form Studio add-on (Edit → Preferences… → Add-ons), in the Keys box. The keys then work only while the EFS tool is selected in the toolbar.
