Wardrobes, bathrooms and hallways
Chapters
In short
- 01A wardrobe for clothes is about 580 mm deep, so a hanger fits across it. A shallow wardrobe of about 400 mm takes a pull-out rail, with the hangers front to back.
- 02The rail hangs under the hat shelf, with its top about 60 mm below it. A divider splits the wardrobe into compartments with a rail and with shelves.
- 03A wardrobe to the ceiling is made as a wardrobe and a top box. A fitting gap is left under the ceiling, and the wardrobe must clear the ceiling as it is stood up.
- 04Bathrooms use moisture-resistant boards or compact laminate, and edge tape goes on every edge. A vanity unit usually hangs on the wall, with its top at about 850 mm.
- 05The pipes come through an opening in the back, open at the bottom. The drawer under the basin gets a cut-out around the trap.
- 06Hallway units are shallower, about 350 to 400 mm. Tall, shallow furniture is fixed to the wall.
