Built-in appliances
Chapters
In short
- 01The appliance does not adapt to the kitchen, the kitchen adapts to the appliance. Before the final design you need the exact model and its installation instructions.
- 02An integrated dishwasher goes into an empty space under the worktop, usually 600 mm, and there are narrow ones of 450 mm. A front goes on its door, and the kickboard in front must let the door open.
- 03An oven goes under the worktop or into a tall unit, in an opening usually 600 mm high. It needs an air path as the instructions say.
- 04A microwave goes into a wall unit or a tall unit, but not above shoulder height.
- 05An integrated fridge goes into a tall unit. Air comes in at the bottom through the kickboard and goes out at the back and top.
- 06The hob goes into a cut-out to the manufacturer's sizes. The cooker hood is on the same centre line, and its height above the hob is set by the hood manufacturer.
