Services
Chapters
In short
- 01Every service gets its wall and two measurements. These are the distance from the start of the wall and the height from the floor, to the centre of the point.
- 02Draw in everything on the wall. That means the connections, switches, junction boxes, heating pipes and radiators.
- 03The waste is the hardest to move, because the pipe needs a fall. Its position decides what goes under the sink.
- 04A hob needs its own supply, often a 400 V connection, depending on the hob and the country. The electrics are done by an electrician, to local regulations.
- 05Gas is connected by a qualified gas fitter, and the valve must stay accessible. A ducted cooker hood needs a hole in the wall, and the distance above the hob is set by the hood manufacturer.
- 06Services are moved before the tiling. Send the installation plan to the electrician and the plumber before they come.
