How to read a hardware catalogue
Chapters
In short
- 01The drilling table tells you where and how deep to drill. For a hinge, that is the diameter and depth of the cup, the cup distance and the mounting plate holes.
- 02The overlay table tells you how much the door covers the side panel with a given cup distance and mounting plate. You get a different overlay with a different plate, not with a different hole.
- 03Installation dimensions tell you how much space the hardware needs, e.g. the inside depth for a runner or the flap height for a lift. Check them before cutting.
- 04The article code is the name of the hardware for ordering. It holds the variants (angle, crank, damping, length, height), so copy it exactly.
- 05Catalogues change, so check the dimensions in the current catalogue before ordering.
